Dover Street Market x HELLO! Magazine || HELLO!’s 30th Birthday (9-16 May)

Dover Street Market celebrates HELLO! Magazine’s 30th Birthday from 9-16 May. The creatives behind CHAOS, Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall, joined with DSM and HELLO! to create a one off mini zine celebrating the collaboration. DSM has also launched a limited-edition collection of clothes and accessories created by some of the world’s most established and emerging designers, including Stella McCartney and Stephen Jones. Inspired by HELLO!’s logo, they have added their artistic touches to the famed brand.

 

Takashi Murakami & Virgil Abloh || Future History at Gagosian, London & On-Going Projects

Earlier this year, Japanese artist Takashi Murakami collaborated with versatile creative Virgil Abloh on an art exhibition at London’s Gagosian Gallery, entitled Future History. The works, produced in Murakami’s Tokyo studio, sees some of their signature symbols and practices fuse together to create a unique synergy. There was a limited run of 400 collaborative T-shirts produced to mark the exhibition, and there’s now talk of a further collaboration in the pipeline at Abloh’s EM PTY Gallery.

 

Fredrik Berselius x James Lowe || The Guest Series at Lyle’s (22-23 May)

On 22 and 23 May, Fredrik Berselius, of acclaimed New York restaurant Aska, will join James Lowe for a collaborative dinner at Lyle’s. The evenings will celebrate the release of Fredrik’s book Aska, which is published by Phaidon on 18 May. Fredrik’s dishes are inspired by nature, memories and the changing seasons which is shown beautifully in his debut cookbook which follows Fredrik’s culinary journey from Scandinavia to Brooklyn, highlighting flavours and techniques cultivated from these regions and interwoven to create the unique dishes that have won him so many awards and fans.

 

Rick Owens x Barneys New York || Subhuman Inhuman Superhuman (Until 3 Jun) 

Earlier this week, Barneys New York launched Rick Owens’ Subhuman Inhuman Superhuman retrospective at its Madison Avenue flagship. Barneys’ creative director Matthew Mazzucca partnered with Owens to curate the event, which includes more than 20 garments on mannequins, furniture, lookbooks, sketches, prototypes, runway videos, and additional video art. Architectural elements from the exhibition are also highlighted on the third and fourth floors, while a recreation of the designer’s Earth Work sculpture fills Barneys’ windows.

 

Cube Haus x David Adjaye, Faye Toogood, Carl Turner Architects & Skene Catling de la Peña || Modular Homes 

Launched this week by two London entrepreneurs, Land Converter’s developer partner Cube Haus has commissioned four modular house designs from David Adjaye, Faye Toogood, Carl Turner Architects and Skene Catling de la Peña to adapt into any garden, industrial space, or even rooftop. Adjaye’s, for example, drew inspiration from his Sunken House in Hackney, while Skene Catling de la Peña built outward from a central terra-cotta core that plays a multifunctional role in everything from heating to cooking. Sellers will get a premium for their land, and buyers will get a well-designed home at a competitive price.

 

LOEWE x Anthea Hamilton || The Squash at Tate Britain (Until 7 Oct)

Anthea Hamilton has transformed the heart of Tate Britain into an elaborate stage for the continuous 6-month performance of a single character, dressed in a colourful squash-like costume. The artist has designed seven costumes in collaboration with LOEWE, helmed by Jonathan Anderson, to be worn by the performers. Over 7,000 white floor tiles have been laid to span the length of the Duveens and encase a series of large structures that serve as podiums for a number of works of art from Tate’s collection, chosen by Hamilton for their organic forms and colours.

 

Mr Porter x Prada || Capsule (Now Available)

This is Prada’s first men’s wear exclusive with a retail partner. Taking a cue from bowling culture, the Mr Porter x Prada capsule collection spans everything from ready-to-wear to shoes. The collection features shirts in cartoon and Hawaiian prints as well as gingham checks and madras patterns. There are stripe cardigans and Prada logo bowling T-shirts alongside polo shirts and blouson jackets made in suede and satin. The range’s footwear offering includes loafers, creepers, cap-toe sneakers and Derbies.
