Franks Umberto || Frank Castronovo, Frank Falcinelli & Umberto Corteo

Prolific Brooklyn restaurateurs Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli, better known as “the Franks,” will be joining Sicilian-style pizza extraordinaire Umberto Corteo and opening up a new slice joint in Cobble Hill. Umberto himself will be on hand making the famous pies, which will feature different ingredients from his Long Island pizzerias.

Niche Niche || Ariel Arce

Ariel Arce’s new restaurant-bar combo is all about good wine. There will be a different wine expert on hand nightly to showcase four different wines, each paired with a matching menu. The space will consist of seating for 25 people, designed by Arce and her father Billy Arce, co-owner of the eatery. The design is meant to reminisce a house with an open kitchen to create a communal experience. Special Club, a second venue underneath Niche Niche, will be a space where people can sit and listen to live music.

Making a comeback this March is Pastis, the renowned French restaurant in the Meatpacking District that closed in 2014.  Now reopening five years later, the romantic French feel to the eatery promises to remain intact. The venture will be led by Stephen Starr with involvement still from Keith McNally, the original Pastis owner.

Mercado Little Spain || José Andrés, Ferran Adrià & Albert Adrià

Soon diners will be able to eat at Mercado Little Spain, a large food hall situated under New York City’s High Line. This all-day dining destination is set to cover 35,000 square feet both indoors and outdoors, and is designed like a typical Spanish food hall and market. Mercado Little Spain comes from renowned Spanish chef Jose Andres along with brothers Ferran and Albert Adria. The eatery will have three full-service restaurants as well as multiple stalls selling tapas, pintxos and more.

Kāwi Momofuku || Eunjo Park

Momofuku’s latest restaurant will be making its way to Hudson Yards in March as well. Led by Eunjo Park, David Chang’s protégé, this Korean restaurant will diverge a bit from the traditional and will have a bar with Korean spirits, a dining room and sushi counter. Next door at Peach Mart, visitors will be able to find takeaway meals like sandwiches and kimbap.

Red Hook Tavern and Hometown Deli || Billy Durney

These two new restaurants from Bar-B-Que owner Billy Durney are highly anticipated openings for this March. To be located in the bustling Red Hook area of Brooklyn, Red Hook Tavern will serve fried chicken, burgers, Southern sides and more. Hometown Deli will be in Sunset Park, offering up sandwiches and smoked meats in the style of Jewish delis—think pastrami, corned beef and egg salad.
