Central London

Gazelle || Tony Conigliaro & Rob Roy Cameron (Open 9 Jul)

Tony Conigliaro and Rob Roy Cameron have previously collaborated on a number of projects, including Untitled in Hackney, and Bar Termini in Soho. Their new two-storey Mayfair cafe, bar and restaurant will be open all day, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and a selection of bar snacks as well as cocktails.

Cora Pearl || Tom Mullion, Tim Steel & Oliver Milburn (Open 10 Jul)

Named after one of the 19th Century’s most notorious party girls, Cora Pearl is the second restaurant from the team behind Kitty Fisher’s. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, the 60-cover restaurant sits over two floors of a historic Henrietta Street townhouse, decked out in parquet flooring, upholstered wall panels and vintage lights. The menu draws inspiration from both British and French cuisine – the countries where Cora spent most of her life.

Maison Bab || Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet (TBC July)

Maison Bab will comprise a modern kebab house, with a bar and 10-seater chef’s table. For their latest venue Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet have collaborated with Le Bab head chef Manu Canales Garces, who will run the kitchen at Maison Bab. Kebabs will be handmade using ancient charcoal-grill traditions coupled with modern culinary techniques and served in house-made flatbread.

West London

Pizzeria 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo || Ciro Salvo (12 Jul)

50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo, the celebrated, eponymous Neapolitan pizzeria of third-generation master pizzaiolo Ciro Salvo, is set to make its London debut this month. The name itself is a mix of pizzaiolo’s slang and Neapolitan dialect that translates roughly to good dough.

Kahani ||Peter Joseph (TBC July) 

Following his departure from Michelin-starred Tamarind in Mayfair after a decade at the helm, chef Peter Joseph, who grew up in South India, is focusing all his efforts on his new solo project. Kahani’s kitchen, which is set to open later this month, will be serving just two curries, with the rest of the menu focussed on grilled proteins and vegetables from a robata grill.

Endo at Rotunda || Endo Kazutoshi (TBC July)

Sushi chef Endo Kazutoshi has honed his craft for over two decades, with credentials that include time at El Bulli and the Zuma group of restaurants. His new 15 seater eatery is located at the site of the former BBC Media Village in London’s White City, the circular rooftop Rotunda is a self-contained annex spread across two floors which used to house a discotheque for BBC staff.

Ichiba || Tak Tokumine (14 Jul)

Street food stations, Asian supermarkets, a sake bar, and more will take over 17,400 sq ft of Westfield London with the opening of a 200-cover Japanese food hall. Japanese Centre CEO Tak Tokumine established the department-level food station that will offer a range of Asian dishes that customers can try during their shopping breaks – noodles, sushi, takoyaki octopus balls, veggie tempura and sashimi. “Theatrical kitchens” will also be installed for guests to learn how to prepare Asian dishes.

South London

Borealis || Soren Jessen & Robin Freeman (TBC July)

Soren Jessen’s latest eatery, Borealis, will open at Borough in a new development. Running the kitchen will be chef Robin Freeman who’s also been responsible for Jessen’s Ekte and comes via the members club Blacks in Soho and Bukowski Grill. An all day spot, open from breakfast through to dinner, there’ll be room for 100 diners.

East London

Carte Blanche || Andy Taylor (13 Jul)

Le Bun co-founder Andy Taylor’s new project combines his love for “dirty American comfort food” with his longstanding passion for French cuisine, embracing hollandaise sauce, red wine jus and foie gras, alongside burgers and nachos. Carte Blanche will also offer natural wines and house cocktails, including a beurre noisette whisky sour which will incorporate butter.
