Available Works Returns to WSA with Rare Books, Music, and Performance Art
By Something CuratedThis month, from 16-18 May, art book fair Available Works returns to New York for its fourth and most expansive iteration yet. The event will take over the 39th floor of 180 Maiden Lane for a weekend of printed matter, live music, art, and cultural programming. Presented by Something Special Studios* and Water Street Associates (WSA), this year’s edition is co-curated by Wrong Answer in partnership with fashion retailer GOAT.
Occupying WSA’s recently revitalised “vertical campus” in the Financial District, the fair brings together a richly curated mix of international booksellers, small press publishers, artists, and design studios. Free and open to the public, as ever, Available Works promises a weekend of discovery – whether you’re a seasoned collector or simply curious.

2025’s line-up includes over 80 participants presenting artist books, independent magazines, and rare printed matter. Expect to see names like Elephant Magazine, Office, Patrick Parrish Studio, Platform x David Zwirner Books, and Blurring Books pitch up. Each exhibitor offers diverse perspectives, from the worlds of fine art and critical theory, to fashion and underground culture.
The fair champions platforms endeavouring to forge new models for publishing. One standout is Junior Publishing, whose playful yet sharply designed titles challenge conventions of authorship and format. Elsewhere, One Love Community Fridge brings food justice and mutual aid to the forefront of the conversation.

Commercial art history, nostalgia, and counterculture collide in tangible form at the event. Celebrating design “that got it wrong in exactly the right way,” co-curator Wrong Answer will be exhibiting their eclectic trove of design ephemera and archival material at the fair, offering unusual and out-of-print objects for sale.
Alongside perusing the collectibles, visitors can immerse themselves in a busy programme of performances, installations, and culinary experiences. To kick things off, on the opening night, from 6pm on Friday 16 May, avant-garde jazz collective Universal Space Jam will play a live set.
The venue adds another layer of energy. More than just a backdrop, WSA has quickly become a creative landmark. Housing studios and galleries, and hosting buzzy public salons, this hub is nurturing a new wave of cultural activity in Lower Manhattan. In a city saturated with events, Available Works offers something distinct: a living archive of culture, accessible through print, sound, and experience.
