From a former pearl merchant’s home in Sharjah to a print studio on New York’s Lower East Side, the below residencies (and technically one prize) — all with deadlines this August — support emerging voices across disciplines, offering artists mentorship, community, and access to new landscapes.


Powerhouse Arts Artist in Residence (AiR) Programme — New York, USA

Powerhouse Arts’ Artist in Residence programme offers three emerging to mid-career New York City-based artists the chance to develop their practice over three months with access to world-class fabrication facilities in print, ceramics, and textiles. Prioritising artists from historically marginalised communities, the residency provides a $10,000 honorarium, a $5,000 materials stipend, studio space, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Residents commit 20 hours a week, engage in public programming, and become part of an evolving alumni network.

Funding: $15,000 — includes studio access, materials, mentorship, and community support.

Keyholder Residency at Lower East Side Printshop — New York, USA

The Keyholder Residency at Lower East Side Printshop offers emerging US-based artists nine months of free 24-hour access to professional printmaking studios in New York City, along with a $1,000 stipend, basic materials, and opportunities to exhibit new work. Open to artists of all disciplines — regardless of printmaking experience — the programme encourages independent practice in a shared, supportive environment. The next residency runs from October 2025 to June 2026

Delfina Foundation Residency for Southeast Asian Artists — London, UK

Delfina Foundation, with support from its Network of Asia Pacific Patrons, is offering a fully funded twelve-week residency in London for an artist based in Southeast Asia. Running from 6 January to 27 March 2026, the residency provides space for research and practice in a supportive environment, alongside a dynamic international cohort. Open to artists who are citizens or long-term residents of countries including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR), and Timor-Leste, the programme encourages critical exchange and cross-cultural dialogue.

Sharjah Art Foundation Residency Programme (Sharjah City) — Sharjah, UAE

Hosted at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, a restored heritage house in the heart of Sharjah, this residency invites artists, writers, performers, and filmmakers to engage with the Emirate’s vibrant cultural context. The building, once a pearl merchant’s residence, now houses artist studios and exhibition spaces within a historic setting. Residents are offered accommodation, a monthly stipend, and access to Sharjah Art Foundation’s extensive institutional networks.

Sharjah Art Foundation Residency Programme (Kalba Ice Factory) — Sharjah, UAE

Running in parallel to the Sharjah City residency, this programme is set at Kalba Ice Factory — a dramatic brutalist site beside the Al Qurm mangroves. The repurposed 1970s structure includes living quarters and studio space, and has hosted large-scale installations during multiple Sharjah Biennials. The remote setting provides a unique environment for focused work in close proximity to a rich natural landscape. Two residency sessions are offered between November 2025 and March 2026, with full support provided by the Foundation.

Artist of the Future Prize — London, UK

Peugeot and Saatchi Gallery have teamed up to launch the Artist of the Future Prize, celebrating fresh talent and innovation in digital art. Open to artists working across digital media, the winner will receive £10,000 — split between cash and a media package — and have their work shown at Saatchi Gallery in London in December 2025. To enter, artists submit a digital piece along with a short bio and a statement about their work. AI-generated art isn’t eligible.

Funding: Shortlisted artists receive exhibition support; one winner receives a £10,000 prize.
